Advice Give yourself plenty of time to get to the bus stop. If there are
no footpaths on your way to the bus stop, you may have to walk on the edge of the road. When you have no other choice but to walk on the road, walk on the side facing the traffic, and if possible, wear something bright. In this way you can see the traffic and drivers can see you.
Sometimes delays can occur. DO NOT WANDER OFF. If your bus is late - wait.
Buses have what is called an "over-hang" at the front. What this means is that the front of the bus may "hang-over" the gutter when pulling into bus stops. This is a major reason why it is important to:
- Stay well back from the roadside while waiting for the bus.
- Not push or shove others when you see the bus approaching.
- Wait until the bus stops completely before going near the door, enter the bus in an orderly
manner.
