Oman National Transport the premier coach and bus company in the Sultanate of Oman. In its endeavor to develop public transport in the country, has made major investment of coaches and buses (Mercedes, MAN & Daewoo). The investment included bus/coach washing plant, bus/coach paint spray booth and modern workshop equipment in order to upgrade its services to international quality standards in all its routes.
The company as from the 17th June 2003 will reintroduce back all Urban-Suburban services with new air-condition buses including the opening of a new routes to Sidab and up to Al Bustan hotel. The other routes will be Al Amerat, Al Khuwair, Royal Hospital, Azaiba Heights, Al Hail, Seeb and up to Sultan Qaboos University. The introduction again of the popular monthly bus passes will serve many customers using our services. Also for the first time specially designed buses to cater for the handicapped/disabled class of travelers equipped with hydraulic lifts will be plied in the routes.
A new route linking Dubai directly from Salalah will also be introduced on the same day with a state of art coaches the first of its kind in the Middle East. The service will be direct and daily during the Khareef season with departure times from both ends at 15:00 hrs. The coaches will have five star facilities like washroom on board, reclining seats, two TV Screens showing latest block busters, facilities to drink tea, coffee and soft drinks. The present (Ruwi- Salalah) frequency will also be increased.
All the present interior and international routes to Sur, Buraimi, Dubai, Abudhabi, Ibri etc will be upgraded with brand new coaches.
The new coaches are also expected to play a big role in the upcoming tourism season to satisfy the demands of the international tourist standards.
